This course is divided into 8 modules, 3 of which are step by step tutorials. What you will learn in each module:
BASICS OF PAPER CUTOUT: Adding Paper Textures: I will explain how to approach each project when starting a design and show you different ways to add paper textures to your layers. This way, you can decide which method you prefer or choose the one that best fits your design.
ADDING SHADOWS: Once you have the basics covered, you will learn how to create shadows in your paper cutout design in different styles—from basic to advanced.
ADDING THICKNESS TO PAPER AND LIGHT: This step can bring your design to life! You discover a few simple ways to make your "papers" look thick, as well as few methods to add light to the elements in your illustration.
ADDITIONAL EFFECTS: In this module, I will share some tips and tricks that will elevate your art. You will learn how to create a ripped paper effect, add drawn details to your "papers," and make the paper look bent! It's so much fun!
PROJECT 1: In the first step by step tutorial, we will create a simple paper cutout illustration with a boat in the water.
PROJECT 2: In this tutorial, you will have the chance to design your own paper box!
PROJECT 3: In this tutorial, I will guide you through all the steps to create a more advanced design featuring a bird—making the papers appear as if they are glued together imperfectly.
MORE PROJECTS TO STUDY AND TRY: Finally, I will share some of my projects, explaining how I made them so they can inspire you to make your own. To help you even more, you can download my Procreate files for these illustrations and study them at your own pace.
